The liver is an amazing filtration system for the human body. It converts nutrients into more assimilable forms, filters out toxins from the blood, and stores vitamins, glucose, and iron.
The only human organ that is also a gland, the liver is crucial to the proper functioning of the metabolism, immunity, and the storage of important nutrients that your body needs. Unfortunately, this filtration system is often abused, either directly by taking in substances that our livers can’t handle, or indirectly by harmful toxins in our environment that get into our bodies.
